The Project
What exactly is being built?
A 114,000 SF air-supported dome (446′ × 256′ × 80′) with a full-size soccer field or two 9v9 fields, two high-school-size softball fields, a 13′ walking track, and hardcourt space for pickleball, basketball, and volleyball — plus an outdoor turfed and lighted field and a 13,100 SF welcome center with golf simulators and meeting rooms.

Where will it be?
Lot 7 of the St. Croix Meadows development in Hudson — 1 mile from I-94, next to a brewery, city park, and planned hotel. The purchase agreement is under contract and the City of Hudson supports the development.
Is this just for soccer?
No. It's a community health and wellness hub — pickleball, softball, basketball, volleyball, a walking track, golf simulators, senior programming, school use, and community events. 70% of reservable time is allocated to the community.
When will it open?
Construction begins once the campaign reaches its funding milestone. The project may be phased — land and dome first, welcome center and outdoor field to follow. [Confirm timeline with WWSA]
The Campaign
How much is being raised?
$9.6M. The developer has already pledged $1M toward land acquisition, and $3M in traditional financing is planned — the rest comes from families, businesses, and foundations across western Wisconsin.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Western Wisconsin Soccer Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Can I spread a gift over several years?
What happens if you raise more than the goal?
Any surplus lets the nonprofit lower rental fees — making the space even more affordable for everyone.
Operations
Can the facility sustain itself?
The operating plan is deliberately conservative — benchmarked against existing Twin Cities dome operators, modeled with six months of near-zero revenue, and reserving $180k a year for maintenance. It's projected net-income positive in year one.
Who runs it?
Western Wisconsin Soccer Association — a 501(c)(3) that has served the region since 1987, manages a $1M+ annual budget, and runs the 43-acre Field of Dreams complex.
